It’s exciting to have World Con, aka Sasquan, nearby in Spokane, WA this year! There’s a great co-operative indie author book booth at Con, so be sure and check out the titles available from talented up and coming writers. FVP author Jeffrey Cook will be there to meet you.
Some of our FVP authors have books at the booth. Here are photos of the display taken and sent to us by a couple of our supporters…
Fabulous! Wishing your authors much success!. Oh, and I Tweet.
Thanks, Mari!!!

So cool of FreeValley and NIWA to be at Worldcon. Look at all those lovely books!
Post-Worldcon report. Well, the table as a whole did ok, but only ok. There were a variety of reasons for this – one of the most commonly mentioned in the dealer’s hall was the massive amount of free books being given away – partly due to the extremely charged and contentious Hugo awards this year.
What we /did/ have was tons and tons of people writing down book titles and taking pictures of covers. At One’s Beast, Secret Order of the Overworld, and Roots Entwine all took turns being on camera, and there may be others I wasn’t aware of since I was mainly at the Scifi table (we had 3 tables there, dividied by Scifi, Fantasy, and YA)
The Scifi table was the most popular – David Moore’s series got a ton of looks, and a couple of sales.
No one did amazingly well. Sales were very scattered, but focused mainly on the Science Fiction over fantasy, but we had a good time, and a ton of great books got exposed to a massive audience from around the world. Despite few people buying, relative to a lot of cons, the table was frequently very, very busy, requiring 5+ volunteers at almost all times.
Hopefully this will result in some Amazon and e-book sales for everyone.
Thank you all for contributing and letting me represent your books to an international audience.
Thank you Jeff! You’re the best!!!
